How the New Manager Series decides what to write about, where its advice comes from, how AI is used and how New Leadership Press earns money.
What we write about
The first year of management: the transition, the conversations, the meetings and the decisions that nobody prepares a new manager for. The guides are practical and general. The disclaimer explains their limits.
Where the advice comes from
The guides draw on management practice and on published research. When a guide relies on a study, a survey or a book, it names it. When something is a matter of judgment rather than evidence, it is written as judgment.
Corrections
If something in a guide is wrong or no longer holds, write to [email protected]. We correct the guide and update its date.
How we use AI
AI tools help with research and editing: finding and summarizing sources, checking that guides are consistent with each other and tightening drafts.
The advice is Peter Curran’s. He decides what each guide recommends and what it warns against, and he reads every guide in full before it is published. Anything an AI tool suggests as a fact is checked against its source first.
Financial interests
New Leadership Press publishes the New Manager Series, including the journal featured on this site, and earns from its sales. Some links are affiliate links, as the affiliate disclosure explains. Peter Curran or New Leadership Press may also have other financial interests connected with some of the books, tools or services mentioned here.
None of this decides what we recommend. No company pays to appear in a guide or reviews it before publication, and a book or tool is suggested because it helps with the situation described, with its limits stated plainly.
